Fast auto re-route facility and optional traffic updates enhances its route calculation further. The maps could be viewed either in 2D or 3D. The instructions are voice-guided and it is available in three different languages including English, Spanish and French. Besides, there is a text-to-speech functionality enabled in it. There are options to change map colour, route colour, icon size, road widths and so on.
Sony NV-U83T comes with integrated Bluetooth system and hence, it could be paired with the mobile phone and can attend calls handsfree. Moreover, once connected with your mobile phone, the user can reject or attend calls using its touch screen display. There is a provision to add four numbers into its speed dial function. The battery life of this Sony Sat Nav is found to be a bit low, of just two hours on continuous use. An enlarged menu could create a bit confusion to the user but once used to it, then user can make it easily. The accessories supplied with it includes a USB cable, a TMC antenna, a vehicle mount, an AC power adapter and a car adapter. It measures 5.6 inches wide, 0.8 inches deep and 3.4 inches high.
