“Free” Navigation is costly
Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation revealed the shocking cost of using satellite navigation that comes free on your mobile phone, when used abroad. Users can end up a phone bill more expensive, above the cost of their fuel consumed for the journey.
Anthony Chmarny, Garmin’s Head Of Communication said that it is not that easy to make out the cost of using free navigation specially when used abroad on your mobile phones. Most of the mobiles automatically download maps when not available, creating nasty shocks to user when mobile bills arrive.

From 1st of July 2010, the European Union has confirmed that users can use €50 of data abroad before being cut off. This piece of information is been promoted to any one driving abroad on holiday. Garmin’s nuvi range sat nav are far apart from this problem as it equips on board mapping that deny the need for downloading maps and data, which means no more hidden cost.
