\n Garmin has introduced the Edge 500. This unit is claimed to be powerful enough for the professionals, but it is also simple for beginners to start with.<\/p>\n

The Edge 500 is stated to be capable of tracking the rider\u2019s distance, speed, GPS position, time, calories burnt, and the ascent and descent. The ascent and descent is computed with the help of an in-built barometric altimeter. It is said to be compatible with Garmin\u2019s wireless peed\/cadence sensor devices. Battery life is rated to be 18 hours and it weighs just about 60 grams. It supposedly sports a USB interface that can be used for charging and data transfer. It can be easily mounted on bicycle handlebars and stems.<\/p>\n
