Snooper S2000 Ventura Sat Nav System


Snooper S2000 Ventura Sat Nav System is a satellite navigation system that helps to locate places with the help of the Ventura Routing Software. It displays all the locations as well as its details on its 4.3 inches full colour LCD touch display in both 2D as well as 3D perspectives. The screen offers simple touch operation and offers a choice of different screen colours.

This compact satellite navigation system displays maps of 29 countries of Western and Eastern Europe also enabling 8-digit postcode navigation using full UK postcode search facility. The ASCI data included in the device provides over 8600 campsites and also acts as a detector by giving speed camera warnings and turn by turn voice instructions. It gives advanced warning about fixed cameras that include Gatso, Truvelo, Watchman, Speedcurb and SPECs speed cameras as well as mobile speed cameras that include roadwork cameras, DS2, Mobile Laser, Mobile Safety Vans and temporary Gatso locations.

Voice alerts are given to confirm the camera type and the speed limit. The device has the ability to calculate the distance required automatically based on the speed limit. If the user is below the speed limit, the device automatically mutes any alerts with its Smart Mute feature. The logic mode feature of the device detects camera that are a risk and ignores those which are on the opposite carriageway. Bluetooth and MP3 player are additional features of this device.

Snooper S2000 Ventura GPS has a built-in SIRF III GPS antenna and provides an extensive list of Points of Interest. It operates on a rechargeable battery and the device is fully portable. The manufacturer offers a guarantee period of 2 years for this device.

iPod touches Satellite Navigation


Geolife and PosiMotion has announced a turn-by-turn navigation application, which is submitted to Apple App Store for approval. Once approved, it will be the first satellite navigation app exclusively designed for iPods.

It is said to utilize PosiMotion’s G-Fi mobile network or GPS router and Geolife’s Navmii GPS navigation software. G-Fi costs 99$ and Navmii will be available for 30£ for UK maps and 40$ for US maps.

The app can turn any iPod into a personal navigation device, incorporated with all sat nav features including smart routing, spoken direction and interactive maps.

A blend of G-Fi mobile network and Navmii software application will be also available once Navmii application has been approved by Apple. New iPhone 3.0 operating system has been released just few months back and there are already a list of GPS navigation applications available, with many yet to be released. These include TeleNav, Navigon, TomTom, Gokivo, iGO My Way and so on.
