Users can store their favourite or most frequently visited place and its address in Kenwood DNX5240 TMC Service Provider. An extensive list of Points-of-interest are stored in this device. Another asset in this device is its auto-zoom feature that zooms the features when required. The maps could be displayed both in 2D or 3D as per users’ choice. Its pre-loaded maps could be upgraded as the latest version is available via internet or a DVD/CD-ROM. Moreover, the whole navigational operations of the device could be operated using a remote control. This is an optional choice for the user.
The display of Kenwood DNX5240 could be customized by setting desired colour for the route, by settings desired display background and by setting your favourite colour for the text. There is a trip computer integrated into it that will record the details of your journey such as your average speed, maximum speed, time moving et cetera. Speed camera database could be loaded into this device for providing speed camera warning. This is also an optional choice for the users. There is wide language support for this device. The voice instructions could be set to hear in one language from the 18 languages provided. The language for screen text is even more wider. The included GPS antenna provides faster reception of GPS signals.
Being a multimedia device, Kenwood DNX5240 has the provision to play back a wide range of video formats including DVD video, DivX, MPEG 4 and JPEG. The audio formats it supports are AAC, WMA and MP3. The iPod and iPhone’s video and audio controls could be controlled directly via their supportive cables. There are two RCA pre outs for connecting external amplifiers. The blue tooth technology allows the user to attend calls hands free. Above all, the device could be easily installed and no separate box is needed for its installation.
