Navigational data can be viewed on the device’s wide 4.3-inch touch screen and anti-glare display, which has a display resolution of 480 x 272 pixels. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers a maximum battery life of up-to 2 hours. The device’s internal antenna is integrated with a high sensitivity Sirf Star III GPS receiver. An Wi-Fi receiver and antenna as well as Cellular Radio and antenna is integrated with this unit.

The Dash Express GPS System comes with pre-loaded built-in maps. Both 2D and 3D views of the maps are provided along with detailed directional instructions and the manoeuvre list. Regular traffic alerts are displayed on the screen that alerts you of the traffic delays, whilst offering you a detour or reroute option. It also comes with a TruTraffic feature that provides you with instantaneous traffic information available from the Dash Driver Network. It offers you a choice of 3 route so that you can choose the best and preferred one. You are also allowed to customise the level of traffic data, which you wish to view. You can store your favourite addresses and data in the systems memory. Addresses can be located by using the house number, suburb name or postcode.

The Dash Express Portable GPS System is integrated with Yahoo Local Search application that provides you the facility of locating almost anything and everything en-route. Addresses can be transferred from any internet connected computer to your car. The latest software, maps and features are automatically updated. Additionally the text to speech functionality reads aloud the names of streets and roads as and when they appear on the screen. Lastly, in case your device is stolen; you can call Dash to remotely disable your device.
